Van Gogh (band)

Van Gogh is a Serbian and former Yugoslav rock band from Belgrade.

The band was formed in 1986, and released their debut alternative rock-oriented self-titled album during the same year. During the 1990s, the band released a number of well-received albums inspired mostly by the works of the band Ekatarina Velika, and in the 2000s the band adopted more commercial sound, becoming one of the top acts of the Serbian rock scene. Since the beginning of the band's career, vocalist and guitarist Zvonimir Đukić and drummer Srboljub Radivojević have been the only mainstay members of the band,the two currently being Van Gogh's only two official members.

Van Gogh is the debut studio album from the Serbian and former Yugoslav rock band Van Gogh, released in 1986. Soon after the album release Van Gogh disbanded, only to reunite in 1990.

Van Gogh is the band's only album that does not feature Zvonimir Đukić on vocals, but on guitar only. The album was originally released by PGP-RTB in 1986, and rereleased in 2001 by Metropolis Records.

Van Gogh (1991 film)

Van Gogh is a 1991 French film written and directed by Maurice Pialat. It stars Jacques Dutronc in the role of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, a role for which he won the 1992 César Award for Best Actor. Set in 1890, the film follows the last 67 days of Van Gogh's life and explores his relationships with his brother Theo, his physician Paul Gachet (most famous as the subject of Van Gogh's painting Portrait of Dr. Gachet), and the women in his life, including Gachet's daughter, Marguerite.

The film was entered into the 1991 Cannes Film Festival. The film was selected as the French entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 64th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.
